Minkey Division
The Minkey Division is a "mini" version of the game of field hockey especially designed for our youngest players - those in 1st and 2nd grade. It is strictly recreational and meant to be a fun introduction to the game of field hockey.
The game is played on a field approx. 25 yds x 50 yds which is approximately 1/4 the size of a regular field hockey field.
Minkey teams will play 6 vs. 6 during games without a goalie and will use a modified set of rules that can be viewed under our documents section.
Most teams will be scheduled for 1 practice and 1 game per week. Practice days and locations will be determined by the individual coach. Games in this division will be played at General Wayne Elementary School in Malvern and are tentatively scheduled to be played on Friday evenings and early Sunday afternoons.
Teams will be formed in late August and players can expect to hear from their coaches around Labor Day. Games will be played beginning the weekend of Sept. 18th and will be played through the weekend of Nov. 8th.
