The Midi Division is a "mini" version of the game of field hockey, especially designed for our players in 3rd and 4th grade. It is strictly recreational and meant to be a fun introduction to the game of field hockey. Due to the number of players in this age group, we have a separate division for each grade.
Midi field hockey emphasizes the basic skills, rules, and positioning used in field hockey.
The game is played on a field approx. 50 yds x 75 yds which is a little less than 3/4 the size of a regular field hockey field.
Midi teams will play 7 vs. 7 during games without a goalie and will use a modified set of rules that can be viewed under our documents section.
Most teams will be scheduled for 1 practice and 1 game per week. Practice days and locations will be determined by the individual coach. Games in this division will be played at General Wayne Elementary School in Malvern. The 3rd and 4th grade division games will be played on Saturdays.
Teams will be formed in August and players can expect to hear from their coaches in mid to late August. Games will be played beginning the weekend of Sept. 8th and will be played through the weekend of Oct. 27th.
